historage: Call for Remixes / Re-workings / Responses

Distractfold, in collaboration with the Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt (IMD) and the Goethe Institut, would like to invite emerging composers, sound artists and electronic music producers to participate in the historage project.
 
We are seeking short remixes, reworkings or responses to selected recordings from the IMD archive of materials:. Interested artists should email historage@internationales-musikinstitut.de to register their interest in the project and in order to be given access to material from the archive.

Submissions will take the following form:
 
- A remix / reworking / response of a maximum of 2 minutes in uncompressed audio format. All works should be stereo - multichannel works will be rejected;
- A short text (150 words maximum) detailing the contextual and conceptual framework for your submission;
- A short bio (150 words maximum), including full name, contact details, website address.
 
6 final participants will be selected from this open call by Distractfold. These artists will be invited to extend their short pieces. The final works will be due on 15 June 2016 and will be part of a digital release celebrating 70 years of the Darmstadt Summer Course. The digital release will take place during the International Summer Course for New Music, Darmstadt, 29 July to 14 August 2016
