Young European Award, Competition for music mediation

YEAH! Young EARopean Award 2015

 

YEAH! is Europe's first competition for music mediation. YEAH! is on the lookout for new concert formats and participative projects that use innovative ways to make music attractive for young people and for the young at heart. YEAH! wants to support European music culture that is modern and open and stands for creativity and quality.

The YEAH! award is given to productions and projects in two categories and is endowed with a total of 40,000 euro:

Category "Performance"
Modern stage- and concert formats from all over Europe that attract their audiences to "classical music" through creative performances
The category "Performance" is for professional productions that are aimed at children, teenagers and multigenerational target groups. Concerts and musical theatre projects of all kinds of formats may apply for this category.

Category "Process"
Participative mediation events and workshops for children and teens, or for all ages.
The category "Process" is for projects that focus on encountering and creating music - independently of presentation or performance.

Who can apply?
YEAH! is aimed at professional organizers, artists, cultural operators as well as cultural institutions of European music that address new audiences with their productions and projects. The productions and projects need to have taken place between February 1st 2013 and June 30th 2014.

How to apply:
1.    Register for online application.
2.    Fill in the application form online and send it online.
3.    Send us five DVD copies of a live recording of your project/ your production as well as photo material for press work (e.g. as CD-ROM, 2 - 4 photos, 300 dpi resolution) naming copyright holder/ photographer. You can send this per post to the competition office of netzwerk junge ohren; the photo material can also be sent online e.g. per wetransfer.

An independent jury of professionals and experts on European culture will select nominees and prize winners from the production and project entries in the beginning of 2015.
