Open Air – Concerto for Violin, Viola and String Orchestra

Jörgen Dafgård’s double concerto Open Air for violin and viola had its world premiere on May 7, 2023 at Palladium, Malmö, Sweden, with Duo Gelland and Kammarorkester Öresund, conducted by Lennart Fredriksson. This was also the start of a short tour in the Öresund region, and a week later, on May 13, the work had its Danish premiere at Musikhøjskolen, Copenhagen. The final concert of the short tour took place at Magle concert house in Lund, Sweden, on May 14.

On September 28, 2024 Open Air will have its German premiere in St Wilhadi Church, Stade. Concerts with the co-commissioning orchestra Norrbotten Kammarorkester will follow later on.
