Om Mattias Sköld
Mattias Sköld (b. April 3, 1976, Stockholm) is a Swedish composer of contemporary music and a live-electronic music performer working with a wide range of genres. He studied composition with Sven-David Sandström and Per Mårtensson at Gotland's School of composition and with Bill Brunson and Pär Lindgren at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm where he is now a composition lecturer.
Sköld's music is performed throughout Europe and America by ensembles and choirs like ReBaroque, Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, Hidden Mother, Allmänna sången, Ginnungagap, The Swedish Radio Choir and Mikaeli Chamber Choir whose conductor, Anders Eby, has been an important influence in Mattias's work.
Sköld is also active on the experimental music scene in Stockholm and was the president of experimental art society Fylkingen 2010-2011. His music is often a mix of different styles and many of his works have biblical themes.
