Hardi Kurda is a composer, sound artist, improviser and PhD candidate at Goldsmiths, University of London. Hardi explores found scores that already exist data and information from everyday materials and object through speculative listening; deep seeing things inside listening, especially listening in the time of crisis, a particular listening experience when Hardi explored during his illegal journey to Europe. Therefore, he uses found score to question the politics of composition and listening, especially when it is urgent and illegal. Hardi’s latest works have been performed at the ADK in Berlin together with Jennifer Walshe and Tomomi ADACHI, Space21 festival, founded in 2017 for sound art and experimental music, Kurdistan in Iraq. Hardi is the fifth scholarship holder of the Radio Art Residency in Halle, Germany, in 2020. Recently, he received a new commission from the Swedish Art Council for his project, The Illegal Performance.
