Madeleine Isaksson studied piano and composition during the 80's at Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, and obtained diplomas in piano-teaching and composition. Sholarships allowed her to continue her studies abroad, in Holland and later, in France, were she lives and works as composer.
Among her compositions: the nonet inné (1993), the quartets Andelek (1997) and Rooms (2000), the septets Sondes (2009) and Isär (2012), the orchestral work Ilôts (2005), for vocal ensemble Ciels (2010) and Terre de l'absence (2012), and the mixed work Far ... for alto guitar and electronics.
In 2005 her CD Failles at Phono Suecia was released. She received the Järnåker Award 2012 for Les sept vallées, composed for solo recorder. The music of Madeleine Isaksson has been performed to great success by prominent ensembles at concerts and festivals across Europe and overseas.
