Hardi Kurda is a composer, improviser and Ph.D. candidate at Goldsmiths, University of London under supervision of Prof. Roger Redgate.
Hardi born in Sulaimani, based in Gothenburg; where he received both BA and MA degree in music composition under supervisions of Prof. Ole Lützow-Holm and Ming Tsao. Also, with Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf at the university for music and theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, Germany. Before university, he studied at the Gotland School of Music Composition in Visby, Sweden with Per Mårtensson and Henrik Strindberg as well.
Besides writing music for a range of classical acoustics/electronics repertoire, Hardi works with various constellations that music collaborate with different art forms in new spaces to create new listening experiences.
Hardi’s compositions often involve suggestive sound surfaces and distinctive gestures. His music idea is to create a new space for every performance that allows the music to live in its time.
